Quick comment:
The contest isn't sword swing against dodging back. The original poster missed the actual contest which was Adam saying (in brief) "I mug him" versus Bruno saying "I nut him one."
Adam's statement of dodging is great as narration but I'd ignore it until after the die roll - unless he wanted to use his immense agility as an augment.
