There is a bit of a theme running through Gregs work of directions corresponding to the four systems.
So you could, without being too far off the mark, say
South=animist
West=sorcerous
East=mystic
North=theist
go far enough in any of those directions, and you end up at the
appropriate otherworld
(yes, there is a mystic otherworld IMO - its just the practitioners of mysticism are hostile to that as well, in general - how exactly the dream world fits in is something I am not sure about) plus up for Sky, down for the underworld, and the seventh for the inner world. The heroplane can be mapped as a cube.
