Asrelia's focus has always been Earth more than Life. Reread the stories about Asrelia in the Esrolia Book or in Heortling Mythology. Asrelia is still clearly a goddess of Life - although she is no longer fertile - and Ernalda is also a Grandmother.
As explained in the Sartar Book, old women who are past motherhood often join the Asrelia subcult of Ernalda - but I do not believe this involves a change in rune affinities for most women.
