If you're using the List method, you don't have to have to define all 9 right away, so don't worry if you're one or two short.
Remember that personality traits, followers, special equipment and relationships all count as abilities.
You could try the Prose method of character generation, too. Maybe writing a description of your character would help ?
I could get more specific but I'd have to know about your character concept first.
