I'd suggest that the existing questions and answers in the message section, and the files, are still of value, and should be retained for reference, even if the list gets closed to new messages.

Leaving it active would seem to be harmless, but you might want to consider altering the footer:

All of these are redundant given the info that Yahoo adds after them in any case, and if the Moon Design website is the more active place for discussion of the subject, a link there might be of more use.

Change to what? Unless it's to a very similar subject, starting a new list would seem like a better idea that reusing this one for a new and different purpose.
