Absolutely! The fact that you are running an extended contest certainly suggests this is (probably) the case. But equally an AP exchange can correspond to a number of events, rolled up into one (such as when you are being mobbed by Trollkin, or Rubble Runners - The AP you loose are as a result of a number of minor attacks, and generally being jostled out of position, and one of hte buggers getting behind you, rather than (necessarily) a single good hit... Likewise when you win AP's back (or force them to loosr them) this might be the result of a sustained oush on your part, not a single blow...

The system doesn't care, it's all how you describe it...
