And that would be rather strange don't you think? Why would anyone use anything but bows if they get such an edge?

The way I'm playing missile combat in my game, betting is more about how you use your bow than how many arrows you fire. A huge bet could be careful aiming (exposing yourself to enemy fire and charging foes) or firing lots of arrows (running the risk of running out of arrows).

Betting only a few points could be a snap shot from behind cover.

Btw: anyone noticed how well HW would model Hong Kong shootouts? Lots of bullets flying, wrecking the furniture and wasting bystanders, before one of the combatants finally go down.
