Starwars and L5R are both pre-declared use of Force POints and Void points as they are done when trying to do something dramatic or vital (or trying not to fail a roll)
IN both these cases, Force Points and Void POints are renwable resources
A more cinematic game, 7th Sea, has Drama Dice used post-roll as its just so embarassing for a hero not to swing across the chandalier and scoop up the girl and ride off.... and instead plow into a wall.
In Hero Wars and 7th Sea, both are non-renewable resources. In both cases, in exchange for a little post-facto help, you are paying an experience point.
Just pointing out the differnece in the mechanism and resources quoted.
