If Tiger Woods spent a few days going over the fine points of your gold swing, would you be on the leader board at St. Andrews? Of course not.

Remember, initiates spend 30% of their time devoted to their god, devotees twice that. They not just know a lot about their god, they are skilled in the thing their god is skilled in.

So, if you spent most of your time practicing golf, and had Tiger coaching you, would you make it onto the PGA tour? Well, still quite possibly not, it depends if you have the right physical and mental gifts to be a top drawer golfer.

Remember too, initiates have been intitiated. They have that sacred bond that lets them embody the properties of their god. And not just everybody can be an initiate of any god. You have to have the right characteristics to be able to make the connection witht he god. Some gods most people can initate to, like Orlanth, but there are even those who can't manage Orlanth's simple requirements (like born tricksters). Someone like Challana Arroy is available only to very few temperments. If you have the temperment to be a Humakti, you will probably never manage an initiation to Challana Arroy, mythological objections aside.

So, if you have the right natural gifts, and spend most of your time practicing, would you benefit from coaching from Tiger? Quite possibly.

If you were the right sort to be initiated to a god, and have done so, and spent your efforts doing the things your god did, then yes, learning the detailed secrets of how your god did something will let you try and copy it.

Well, at least that is how I understand it.....
