This was debated before on the HW list (that Nils refers to) in which some people suggested that integration of ancestors could be used instead.
My suggestion was to create a secret in the Daka Fal cult in which one can learn spells from ancestors (not to mention the fact that RQ3 didn't indicate how this was done).
