Actually (and trying not to get back to the 'arms race' line of competitive replies :), this rather proves my point. A feint high over the shield followed rapidly by a hack low under the shield sounds quite energetic compared to a standard simple hack, for much the same effect if successful. Extra AP bidding needed to beat a high defensive Edge/Rank in fact.
