Ambush predators

The accounts I've heard of real-world ambush predators suggest that the majority (perhaps 80% to 90%) of their attempts on prey fail. They break off as soon as anything goes wrong, or the prey spot them and flee.

In HW terms, the objective of the prey is to escape, not to do damage to the predator. So shadow kitty that goes to zero AP doesn't suffer damage.
