It was last year when that twister ripped through Poole and destroyed a few roofs and a couple of caravan sites (why do twisters aim for caravans? I suspect some deep level conspiracy). The Met Office came up with this stat. However I don't think anyone has ever been directly killed by one in th UK, and the same for earthquakes. Most of them form as waterspouts I seem to recall.
