This is highly advantageous to the shaman (he gets his assorted spirits at his best tradition rating), and for that reason alone I like it :) It also makes sense - other traditions are 'secondary', so the 'primary' tradition is more personal. FAQ material perhaps? Well, OAQ (once asked question) anyway...
