Yes. Although sometimes you may know, or strongly suspect what some of the stations will be, and there may be good reasons to choose support for that particular station

For instance, you know that one stage of the quest involves a fight against Trolls - Support here from an anti-troll cult (Yelmalio, Vinga, High King Elf) may be worth more than the equivalent support from a "Neutral" cult (Humakt, Urox, Odayla).

This suggests, of course that support could overlap - if the Humakti are supporting your Close Combat throughout the quest, and the Vingans are specifically supporting the fight against the Trolls.

The downside is that if the quest doesn't go quite the way you planned, some of your support may be "wasted" - The Vingans are supporting you when you face the Trolls, but this time the "Darkness" is represented by Black Elves...
