Just different. And almost certainly more 'visible' (Hey! He's using Magic on me! Get him!)

This is howevr, a very useful point in the play level where most groups tend to be (17-10w) -- in that zone, giving that extra +1/+2 can make all diference.

I do not think so, but this is my opinion. I prefer to think of magic affecting 'things' rather than 'a big thing is this difficult'. I'd rather stay out of the chart-heavy simulationist genre.

But again, that's in my game (and/or in anything I have to write-up)... Any house rules I may have, I tend not to use for those purposes for obvious reasons.
