So, officially, magical leaps are superior to mundane leaps. This does not however establish whether magical abilities are superior to synonymous mundane abilities. If i interpret the rules correctly, both of the following observations should be true:

  1. Orlaront, using the magical feat "strength of the bull" at 10w, can lift a 'human-sized marble statue' facing a resistance of 14. Bregor, who is merely mundanely "strong" at 10w, faces a resistance of 10w3 doing the same.
  2. When Orlaront and Bregor armwrestle, using their respective strength abilities, they are evenly matched, because Bregor can resist Orlaront's magical strength with his mundane "strong", his most relevant ability in this contest.

Unless i err in my interpretation of the rules, Orlaront can toss marble statues around that Bregor has a slim chance indeed of budging (1 in 400), while, Orlaront and Bregor stand equal chances of defeating each other at armwrestling.

If so, then it still seems that the official Issaries stance on the relationship between magical and mundane is "it depends", unless active resistance to magic somehow makes it weaker than when it is resisted passively by the universe (something which i am prepared to accept, given a good enough rationale).
