Not efficient use of words, not exactly correct (ie often lacking in culture keywords). I leave it as an exercise for the reader if they can guess the original source. Also note that they are basically 2nd Age characters, except the dreadful mystic, who was a bad a character as I could come up with.

100word examples:

VIZZ
One standest amidst a knot of friends, tall and somewhat stooping, in a corselet of silver, and a cloak of old brocaded silk coloured like tarnished gold; swarthy, and with bristling black moustachios. Tis but Vizz, brother to Volle. He is wealthiest in goods of all the Sea Captains save the three brethren only. Known as Goldentongue, and blessed by that god, he has traded with the red-skinned gods of trowjang and the dread rainbow pirates. He owns a Scintillating Bush Runner, one of the most beautiful, from Ytarian in Pamaltela, and has other exotic trophies from his far travels. 100words

Well loved he is among the dragonlords, for he is merry of mood, and a mighty man of his hands withal when he leadeth his horsemen against the enemy. LORD ZIGG
Lord Zigg, his armour from chin to toe shone with silver, and jewels blazed on his gorget and baldrick and the hilt of his straight sword. There is Hesper Golthring; he loveth two things a good horse and a swift ship. Gavrick follows, long of leg and with a helm of silver set with raven's wing. The Council relies on these men to conquer foes and suppress rebellion.

NJAL
Njal is a wealthy and handsome Lawspeaker, but he has one peculiarity: he cannot grow a beard. He is so skilled in law that no one is considered his equal. He is a wise and prescient man. His advice is sound, and always turns out well for those who follow it. He is a gentle man of great integrity; he remembers the past and discerns the future, and solves the problems of any man who comes to him for help. His wife, Bergthora, is a courageous woman, but harsh natured. He has forsworn the gods, but does not deny them. 100words

GUNNAR
Gunnar was a tall, powerful man, outstandingly skilful with arms. He could strike or throw with either hand and his sword-strokes were so fast that he seemed to be brandishing three swords at once. He was excellent at archery, and his arrows never missed their mark. He could jump more than his own height in full armour, and just as far backwards as forwards. He could swim like a seal.. He was a handsome man, extremely well-bred, fearless, generous, and even-tempered, faithful to his friends but careful in his choice of them. VAKAR
On the king's left sat his younger son Vakar, the twin, although not identical, brother of Prince Kuros looking a bit vacuous, for age and experience had not yet stamped his features with character, and a bit foppish...instead of the normal Dara Happan toga he wore the checkered trews of the barbarians, and, another fad, copied the barbarian custom of shaving all the face but the upper lip. The politics of Kostaddi were of no interest to Vakar, and he longed for an adventurous life, so joined the Imperial Bowmen and was initiated into the cult of Saggitus. 100words

FARREK (and ally, the BLUE GROUSER)
Farrek, a burly barbarian, and the Blue Grouser, a nimble fingered thief. Farrek and the Blue Grouser are rogues through and through, though each has a lot of humanity and at least a diamond chip of the spirit of true adventure. They drink, they feast, they wench, they brawl, they steal, they gamble, and surely they hire out their swords to powers that are only a shade better, if that, than the villians. With their vitality, appetites, warm sympathies and imagination they are anything but anti-heroes. They are cynical but they boldly go on adventures, dicing with destiny and death. 100words.

FLAWED MYSTIC
A fat, bald, disagreeable man, with scant knowledge and less wisdom. He was nothing but a damn coward, and a poor liar. The gods have cursed this ill natured freak. No one likes him, for he is ill mannered and smells of dead rats. He is not wealthy, poorer than the rest of the peasants that live in his neighbourhood. He is tough; cockroach tough. He has an ability to waste money in quicker time on more absurd undertakings than any dilettante. He isn't a diplomat, he is a dope. But worst of all he is a degenerate Taralraran mystic.

ANNOC
Annoc rose rapidly in Tarshite service. Becoming a general he defeated the Exiles in a great battle and broke the back of their confederacy. Then he was called back to the capital, Furthest, for a triumph. But, having aroused the suspicion and jealosy of the depraved and foolish king, he is plied with drugged wine and chained in the Iron Tower. The barbarian, however, has friends as well as enemies in Tarsh, and soon he was spirited out of his prison and turned loose with a horse and a sword. Riding back to the frontier he finds Grazelander troops scattered.

ENDRAGANT
My days have run, the servant I,
Initiate, of the Lord of Destruction;
Where midnight Shargash roves, I rove;
I have endured his thunder-cry;
Fulfilled his red and bleeding feasts;
Held the Great Fathers red bolt;
I am set free and named Endragant
An eleven of the Devourer

Hail, I am terrible!
Hail, I am the slayer of all!
Hail, I am the archer!
Hail, I am the Drummer!
Hail, I am the Plunderer !

I loudly roar and Fear Not!
I Hate Darjiini Usurpers!
I march to the drum and barbarians break against me like wind on rocks. 99words.

MALYGRIS
Now Malygris was old, and all the baleful might of his enchantments, all the dreadful or curious demons under his control, all the fear that he had wrought in the hearts fo kings and prelates, were no longer enough to assuage the black ennui of his days. In his chair that was fashioned from the ivory of mastodons, inset with terrible cryptic runes of red tourmalines and azure crystals, he stared moodily through window of fulvous glass. About him were scattered all the appurtenances of his art; the skulls of men and monsters; phials filled with black and sacriligious liquids. 100words

MARANAPION
The entrance to the vault was guarded by earth demons that obeyed the arch-sorceror, Maranapion, who had long been the king's councillor, and longer been in the thrall of foul necromancy. These demons would have torn limb from limb any who came unprepared to offer them a libation of fresh blood. The vault was lit dubiously by a single lamp, hollowed from a monstrous garnet, and fed with viper's oil. Within a tripod of tarnished silver, in a silver socket, there reposed the enormous blue eye of a slain cyclops, wherein the mage beheld weird visions and wrought baleful dooms. 100 words.

HOTAR (and ally EVIDON)
Hotar and Evidon were brothers in theomancy as well as by consanguinity. They were representatives of a line of illustrious inventors and investigators, all of whom had contributed more or less to the knowledge and wisdom, and of a lofty civilisation matured through centuries. They had learned the arcanic secrets of geology, of biology, of astronomy; they had subverted the elements, had constrained the sea, the sun, the air, and the force of the tides, compelling them to serve the uses of man; and they had found a way to release the Runequest Power, to destroy, transmute, and reconstruct mythology. 100words
