Sloppyness on MY part. I should have said, "Magical Weapons, Rune Metal Weapons (of which iron and silver are) and fire were always able to affect werewolves.}" and then in ever case where I said "silver" said "rune metal." Magical weapons are also a lot more common in Glorantha than they used to be. =)

Oh, and no -- silver or special weapons affecting weres is quite old.  I suggest you look into the origins of the shapeshifter myths -- the bearsarks and wulfsarks of Norse myth are nigh-invlnerable unless you have the right weapon to hand (sort of like The Tick but less clever and more bad breath).

True, but we've been using a large armor penalty for mundane weapons and it seems to work well enough. The 'can't drop them below zero' means you can't ever defeat them without magic which is not quite the case. And, to me, it just doesn't feel right.

My applogies. Rune Metal Weapons and magical weapons and fire. Oh and hurling gouts of magic fire/lightning/borsht/whatever at them works too.

Yes. Rune Metals, Fire or Magic were long standing traditions in Glorantha dating back to the 70's

Telmori can turn into werewolves if they have the secret. OR on Wildday. And yes, they can't be affected by normal weapons. (No, there's no Pure Telomri in Dragon Pass, only Cursed ones).

Tribes near the telmori tend to adopt gods who provide weapon enhancing magics and develop hero cults with special telmori bashing feats. Elmal's Blazing Spear will take the starch out of a were, as will beating one heavily about the head with Lightning Sword. Its just not as effecient as using iron or silver.

Also, Temori are a rarity -- they are more of a cattle and sheep stealing boogywolf than actually seen or dealt with. Wandering onto their lands is bad news but on the whole, they have other problems -- like surviving.

Hope this helps,

Jeff
