Heroes and villians may stake more AP than they currently have, up to their starting AP total.... minor villians and followers may not use this rule.

Also, you can't spend HP on followers activitites, only on things the hero is doing.

(You) may only bump up your own rolls, not friend's, follower's or an opponent's.

And if a follower is acting independently, its using its own skills and does not provide him with AP until/unless it rejoins him (which takes the follower an action). Others have pointed out that you cannot get more AP than the opponent has, no matter how good the transfer and this is an important point.

And, of course, you could always give your overly ambitious kolati something of his very own to think about -- some large spirit is making him a hobby because he's so loud and easily noticed...
