So you see the two as mutually exclusive? My impression from RQ was that becoming a rune level was a step towards herodom. That may well have changed. In fact, can see there requirement for discile dom before herodom. But would it stop you? I don't quite follow that. Why couldn't a disciple of Humakt be a hero? And why couldn't a PC wish to be both?

I'd like to think most of the major gods culd. As someone else has said, spending 90% of your time slaying chaos doesn't sound impossible as a Urox disciple. And while Gringle may be only a devotee or initiate, I would think a travelling merchant disciple is conceivable.

I'd also like to think disciples of Orlanth are possibkle in some way. Disciples of an aspect? The first place to look for a division, it seems to me, as whether you can get three affinities. If you can't, no disciples, if you can, we'll see.

I'd also not like to see sme of the old terminolgy get jettisioned. One of the things I most liked was the names rune level, runelord, rune priest, Sword of Humakt, Karrg's sons, Wind Lords. They're things unique to Glorantha and contribute a lot to its flavour. Generic terms like devotee and disciple are much less appealing. I want to see the old terms remain and to be things that PCs can realistically aspire to. I imiagine that priests of Orlanth are still Storm Voices and so on, but I'm hoping that TR makes good use of such names.

So we're now talking 2% devotees, disciples, ring members?
