It just seemed to fit with my reading of the myth/story - the story switches from being a recounting of what Alakoring did to what Orlanth did with barely a pause for breath, never mind exposition.
Of course, that's what makes it a better myth - loads of ambiguity where interpretation reveals more of the interpreter than the "truth". I suspect that it reveals that I am an out and out powergamer (perhaps mitigated a little by a dash of a roleplayer and hints of a storyteller - I hope ;-) ).
