The problem, however, is how to split the two parts - is it (grant or augment ability) plus (grant AP), or is it (grant ability) or (augment ability and grant AP)? I had thought the former, so you get the AP whether it's giving a new ability or augmenting an existing one. But now I'm not so sure...
