In a message dated 1/31/01 5:35:55PM, you write:

<< A) How do you narrate a Quest Challenge? What happens when I wager an  ability other than just saying so and rolling the dice? What does this  represent? As is it seems like a mechanical game construct. The Narrator's  Book just yadda-yaddas over the subject then points over my shoulder and  runs away. >>

I think the answer is that the Quest challenge will be some contest symbollic of the abilities, ie the contest represents the fact that what is magically going on is a Quest challenge; what appears to be going on is some sort of percievable contest; a wager, an arm wrestle, a singing contest, a fight...whatever. It is just that the results are more than just the results.
