Oh, I love the players to make up details in my games! Providing it doesn't irreparably derail the plot, that is. It's a great way to spice up the story (a fine example being the "Hide A Cow" contest from last night's game - thanks Benedict, Charles and Ian).
Players are just so much more reluctant, in general, to do this than other narrators are. They tend to ask: "Is there a red smith over there?..."
Anyone would think I scared them. :)
