I consider it a mixture of both. Its a magical person in a magical world. I'm willing to lean more to the side of the fantastic rather than a more boring 'oh, you're just good at that' -- I find the Javern Spithorn writeup on Sunset leap pretty inspirational reading.

If you look at Voganth the Strong Man in Morden Defends The Camp, he's a Big Man, not a Strong One. (thick as a brick and honest as the day is long but... you can't have everything)
