Sorcerous Familiars in Hero Wars ?

As everyone knows, RuneQuest sorcerers had to create a familiar to qualify as Adepts.

Hero Wars does away with this : fine.

However, the idea of the sorceror's Familiar hasn't gone away, and there are probably Gloranthan sorcerors who do actually have them. But does anyone have an idea how they work in HW ?

My initial impulse was to treat them as living Talismans ; but looking up the matter on p.194 I find "[Spell] connections cannot be made to living objects". (an odd rule BTW)

Is there anything about them in AR ?
