Sorry, 2nd attemt at this posting:

My assumption here is that the 10%, 30% or 60% refer to the free time that the individual has available after he/she has fulfilled his other obligations i.e. ploughing, sowing, reaping, herding, milking, hunting, crafting, clearance, public construction works, military service. Therefore I would not reckon it at 16 hours a day more like five or six. Let's assume therefore that you have 42 hours free a week. For communal worshippers this 10% (4.2 hours) of free time would probably amount to represent participation at the holy day services and some small amounts of personal prayer in the week. Initiaites have 12 hours would might represent their increased responsibilities on the holy day and perhaps a couple of additional services where more secret aspects of the god are taught (they have to spend this time to gain thos affinities). Devotees probably need the 24 hours, becuase they are attending religious services performing duties every day of the week (and he has learn to interpret all those feat names <g>).

Of course because the devotee is spending a lot of his free time in worship he won't be spending quality time with his kin or friends and may be thought of as fanatical or anti-social. Society is important and the real negative side of players devotion should be that they will not have such good personal relationships with loved ones in return for a better personal relatinship with god (imagine how your freinds and family would feel if you spent 60% of your free time in religous worship).
