Are you familiar with any ancient culture which wore Woad as a war paint? Yes: the ancient Celts. And what is this discussion thread about? *Not* Orlanthi war paint, but Orlanthi cultural templates.
Ignoring the Celts is a choice, not an inevitability. I think it's a bad choice myself, and one which the evidence and sources neither encourage nor support.
