Something like that. And much of the material gotten by a member of the family or bloodline is shared out between them. It does mean that
that an adventurer who does very well may have to share with his no-good cousins. However, when it comes time to pay that ransom or stop a blood feud, its your family who will stand by you. Also, when you're on trial, thye make handy witnesses (or helpful folks for collecting that ransom you want)

Yep. Or things that you need for your work or things you are too greedy to share with your kinfolks... =)
