If it were done to the standard of Griffin Mountain, I'd even buy books on useless parts of Glorantha like Kralorela... But I think it might be too intimidating for a new player if done to that scope.

One nice thing from Griffin Island (which was otherwise inferior to Griffin Mountain) was the player handouts. There's really nothing in Hero Wars that you can give to a new player who's willing to read a few pages. (What Grandpa Told You in Barbarian Adventures is close, but its embedded questions make it confusing.) This could include some sort of map (the point is to communicate with a 21st Century player, not to drive home the fact that their character has never seen a map), a scorecard of important deities, etc.

Such handouts might potentially be something downloadable from the web site.
