A great Secret of Romania - there are only a limited number of mustaches available, left over from a Marx Brothers movie that was filmed in Romania but never released. All Romanian men who appear in pictures or on TV must borrow a mustach from the Department of Mustaches. They must be returned on pain of having your nose cut off and sewn back on upsidedown. When a lot of people are shown in crowd scenes, the ones in the back have painted-on mustaches.cOnly the guys in front have one of the "real" mustaches.
