It also doesn't take the actual sword teaching anywhere. Their initial meeting seemed a setup for a typical "training montage", whereupon V. could prove that he had become more skilled than his master. But nothing. They just jump to X years later, and he never even shows off any flashy fighting techniques... Blah.
How historical is a female druid, BTW?
Anyway, the debacle at Alesia shows the danger of sending a Follower to do a Hero's job: the lieutenant V. sends to the other chieftains fails to forge them into a single unit, thus paving the way for defeat.
