I think there is a new-appearing tendency to forget that Humakt is not looking for people to die "before their time."

Rather, he wants them to die at their proper time. One test that someone has reached his proper time is that he fights Humakti.

Humakti warriors KNOW they will die someday, but so will everyone else. The advantage of being Humakti is that you KNOW in your bones something that other people acknowledge only grudgingly.

But Humakt soldiers, or a company led by Humakti, are not berserks. This is not Storm Bull or Zorak Zoran. One meets death calmly, in its face as Truth, not eagerly, in a killing frenzy.

An Humakti commander will not sacrifice his unit in eagerness to embrace Death today. Death will come when it his time for Him to come.

Until then, one pays tribute to the God by killing His (and your) enemies, not one's self, let alone one's men.

Such a commander would be "better" than an Orlanthi specifically because of his unnatural (for an Heortling man) calmness and objectivity -- he would not be overcome by gusts of passion. Not only would you be more likely to win with an Humakti commander, you would be more likely to live, or, if you died, know that you had taken the greatest number of enemies with you.
