I may be
I vaguely remember from RQ days that the Ducks (that's what we called
'em back then, "ducks", deal with it) tended to be focussed on
death-gods.
What is the current Gloranthan wisdom on this? As my group played it
back then, this meant little more than "when you play a duck, have him
be a Humakti swordsman". Do we know more details about the Dragon Pass
durulzik culture? A few questions which come to mind:
- Are they theists in the Storm pantheon (Heortlings with feathers)? If
so (focussing, I'd guess, on Humakt), that'd be an interesting skewing
of Heortling society--elevating an auxiliary god (and a wacky, obsessive
auxiliary god, at that) to the center of community life. Humakti
weddings? Humakti crop blessings? The mind boggles.
- Are they theists of some completely different stripe? If so, do we
know anything about their gods? (The Heortlings may not be fully
informed about this... the Durulz might worship Donald DeathHatcher, but
the Heortlings might just assume "that's a funny way of saying 'Humakt'
".) Or do they follow some other path? (Hey... how 'bout a mystic
"Embrace of Death" path? I could get into that!)
- Maybe I'm missing the boat here. Are the Durulz properly considered
one of the Elder Races? If so, our human distinctions between
theistic/shamanic/mystical/sorcerous magics might not apply...
Will I just have to wait for the "Durulz Soup" supplement, which answers
these things?
