There are certain to be Lunar architects in Pavis, studying Pavic architecture in the Rubble (with armed guards of freebooting player character types). The Army would want to use their skills in assessing fortifications, etc.

Also, *someone* must have helped build the New Lunar Bridge over the River of Cradles (and they got the height *exactly* right, too, which tells us something about their competence).

I'd assume (based on Tarsh Wars past) that the Marble Phalanx would be most likely to do this (with anal precision); the Silver Shields *might* (but they probably can't be bothered), while the Sable Rider auxiliaries almost certainly *won't* (though a particularly "Lunarised" khan might be trying it out to look more civilised).

IMO it wouldn't be an "overnight camp" kinda thing (like the Romans') -- more that if a unit was being based out near Ronegarth for an extended period, they'd throw up semi-permanent fortifications.

The latter. It's part of what soldiering is all about, in units which go in for building that kind of thing. Senior NCO's would know the standard plans and boss everyone about while they threw up ramparts etc. with their entrenching tools.

BTW, not much call for carpentry in Prax...

Cheers, Nick
