Perhaps I missunderstand, what particularly predates Arkat -
the cult of Zorak Zoran? We have some evidence that Zolan Zubar
and Zorak Zoran existed as seperate cults at the same time, but
I'm not clear on the sequence of events.
However what you suggest - that the trolls identified their god
with a being in a foreign myth and incorporated it's powers into
their own, strikes me as being very Arkati.
