Or jump a bus or a train. "Drive an hour up the road" was meant more as an indication of distance than an absolute direction. (as an aside, Kitchener-Waterloo has the world's second largest Oktoberfest celebration after Munich, but of course that is in October, not so relevant to Gloranthacon in March).

Hmmm, Canadian wineries generally avoid sweet, since the first canadian wines were cheap, sweet, fizzy, concoctions with names like "Baby Duck." Still, there are bound to be some things to your taste. As already mentioned the ontario wineries biggest success has been with ice wines which are quite sweet, but they are bloody expensive. I'm not well informed on sweeter wines, but I'll do some "research" on the subject...
