Heh heh, spirit world internet indeed. Sorting out the desired
message from the OT threads and constantly arguing over whether
Humakti are psychopaths would be problematic.
But, then again, that's the job of the shamen - to interpret the
omens and consult the spirits. True, they aren't couriers or errand
boys, that stuff will get done in the mundane realm. The spirit world
is the place to decide whether the portents favour the raid (ie: the
ancestors are feeling fractious) in the first place.
The instigators though are probably the khans. Not so much the shaman
telling the khan he's got to go on a raid into Sartar but the khan
asking the shaman to get the spirits to favour his venture.
