In Questlines 2, there's the story of how when Umath first invaded Glorantha and began spiralling between Earth and Sky, most of Yelm's children (the planets) reacted in fear or anger. However, Verithurusa was curious, and turned to watch Umath and then began following him around. She also took a peek into the Underworld during her travels, and changed colour as a result. After this she took the name Sedenya.

This would also tie in with Peter's comment that "Sedenya is the daughter of Yelm that tried to understand the Rebels [and] ends up aiding them"
