One of the funniest movies by John Carpenter (I don't know the english title), that one about Kurt Russel as a Truck Driver who fights Chinese thugs and demigods under Chinatown, staged an interesting "Empowering" scene.
At the first Kurt's intrusion he was defeated by his enemies. At the second (barely some hours after) he squashes them. Maybe he was heroforming or he received a massive blessing during the empowering scene but the movie truly was funny!
