By popular request (well, two requests, but that's popular enough in my book) here are some of the major 'calendared' events takng place during BotG, which will be run at Gloranthacon in March. I dare say there will be one or two surprises too, generated both by the GMs and the players!
Of course, if you actually want to play in the game, you need to come to Gloranthacon. If you are planning to come but haven't registered yet, this is a good time - the first deadline for registrations to BotG and character allocations will take place this weekend. While there will probably still be places free after then, those who register for the con and return the BotG registration form (available in the Files section of the Gloranthacon yahoogroup) by then will get priority.
Birth of the Goddess
Dark Season, 1219
Tearing the Veil: Annual rites in which the barriers between the
mortal realm and the otherworlds are thin. Everyone heads home for
this ritual, and for a brief while enmities are set aside. Mystical.
Storm Season, 1219
The Dorkath Sex Hunt: An orgiastic Darjiini festival, in which wine
flows like water and even respectable matrons and dour gentlemen
give themselves up to the passions of the hunt. Disgraceful.
Sacred Time, 1219 (interval)
Sea Season, 1220
The Renewal Rites: The Great Shah carries out the holy rites which
bless the new year.
The Bull's Conclave: After the Renewal Rites, the Great Shah gathers
his lieutenants and advisers to hear counsel and set policy for the
coming year.
Fire Season, 1220
Springfair: A great market held in Raibanth, at which traders and
sight-seers from across the empire gather. Again, this is a time in
which even enemies may gather without fear, as the gods of trade and
communication hold sway.
Earth Season, 1220
The Quinquennial Assembly of Chirurgeons, Savants and Sundry
Scholars: QACSSS is the foremost scholarly gathering of Peloria, now
under notional Carmanian patronage. A place for balanced debate, the
sharing of views between intellectual equals...and vicious academic
jealousies and rivalries.
The Fortunate Celebrations: The Overseer of Yuthuppa has declared a
great festival, with feasts, games, challenges and a pageant!
Dark Season, 1220
Tearing the Veil: But this time, something is happening. Something
wonderful and terrifying, awesome and invisible...
The Conclusion!
All the best
