I think IMG there's one Yelmic city with a long tradition of a ritual Griffin Hunt. Only nobles take part. A human noble who slays a griffin gains great honour, and so does a griffin noble who slays a human.

My favourite griffin quote is from a non-Gloranthan source, an excellent book called 'The Magic and the Healing'. 'I usually only meet any given human once. And briefly.'
