I was first attracted to RQ2, and from there to Glorantha.

In RQ2, characters had skills instead of classes. This was a biggie in 1979.

And all characters had simple magic; with time, they could have some kick-butt magic with work.

Then came Cults of Prax. And RQ2 had a real, breathing world; the first I had seen in a RPG. It was as much the "Tales of Biturian Varosh" as the cult histories and myths. The Lightbringer's Tale was also key.

And I've looked over much of my old RQ2 & RQ3 stuff lately; I much prefer the HW/HQ line. Before, it felt like all I was getting was glimpses into Glorantha, as through a picket fence. I never really felt I understood Glorantha enough to do it justice.

With "Thunder Rebels" and "Storm Tribe" I feel like I finally have enough to run Orlanthi. Do I know all the bits I want? No. Can I find everything quickly? Alas, not always. But it's "good enough". The rest will follow.
