I'm not sure what this and similar minded advice really achieves. Since Sherrifs exist in Heortland, the appearance of one so far north is strange but not totally wierd.

Saying that Apple Lane is a short-lived unusual place ignores the fact that Orlanthi/Sartarites are not a monolithic people - there will always be odd bits that don't quite fit in here and there, such as the tribes that have goats, dogs or darkness rituals.

If Apple Lane looks far too odd for you, the solution is simple: Ignore It.

If you wondering why Apple Lane has a werewolf merchant and duck manservant, three-eyed smiths, an Ulerian Temple, an acupunturist shaman with an igoress, a trollkin stickpicker, a sheriff and an inn with tin roofs then the better course of action might be to ask how these things came to be and what makes Apple Lane the Twin Peaks of Sartar with oddballs left right and centre.
