We wanted the discs to be accesible to both PC and MAC users so we only included text files on the CD so that everyone could open it. We did begin to develope more comprehensive documents to attach to the project, but they were unsatisfactory feeling and did little to enhance the product.

When we produced Paper Wars we actually envisioned a very small and specialist market, a judgement that seems correct. As a product CD's aren't as attractive to game shops as nice big magazine, so most sales are via online.

The CD has the UW website listed on it, although comment taken that the site needs updating.

As a product the CD was immensley laborious, I work of love more than anything. As you said there are HUNDREDS of drawings on it, each taking a LOT of time to produce. There were a lot of complications and several times the project looked like it may never see the shelves, however we at UW rejoice that it did.

Paper Wars has been announced on several other forums other than these, aimed directly at non-gloranthan players, and this has enocouraged some additional purchases, although I think the 'Gloranthan' content has actually put a few potential buyers off.

However the comments are all graciously welcomed and will be taken into consideration in future products.

While we are on the subject of UW products I would like to announce that following the success of the limited edition Heortland Map which was released at Gloranthacon and has now sold out. I have negotiated with the printers who will do us a reprint. So if you want a map place your order now. As part of the negotiations we are looking at the release of a number of other maps in A3 format, including Darren Simms full colour Dagori Inkarth map, the Map from Tarsh in Flames (with added touches), A new revised map of Furthest in full technocolour, Imther the home of the Mountain King and several others. Watch this space for further updates.

At the moment please only place advanced orders to Mark or myself for the Heortland and Dagori Inkarth maps.

Cheers Simon Bray
