Probably, there are as many different explanations (i.e. opinions of different Gloranthans) as there are ways of worshipping Her.

IMG Gloranthans don't ask that kind of question, really. Isn't that kind of thinking a product of a modern, technologically enlightened mind?

I think that if a player asked me how it works I'd explain it using an NPC, like their father, mother, whatever. Then you can set the kind of atmosphere in your story that you want.

Maybe it's like 'When is Orlanth's birthday?' (don't ask *me* btw :) )

All my own point of view, obviously. I prefer a Glorantha with fewer physics-based explanations of how/why things are and more subjective information. Less simulationist and more story (a transition made when going from RQ to HQ with which I continue to struggle, I suppose many must).
