With Loonies, who knows? It could be a plain-old treasure hunt (perhaps
misguided, because some lordling "just knows" there's some big, powerful
treasure in there). It could be retribution for something the trolls did. It
could be intra-lunar politics--some neighboring lord is trying to start a
fight between the Uz and the local Lunars. It could be the result of some
secret deal with nearby Elves or Dwarves. Perhaps the Lunars are working
with some *other* Uz settlement which has a grudge against the heroes' home
(which explains how they found the enterances to the caves). They could be
trying to pressure the Uz into signing a treaty, or something similar (like
arranging a marriage between an Uz hero and a Lunar godling). It could be a
research operation--some university is engaged in a project on (for example)
Korasting fetishes or Gadblad anvils, and has commissioned raids to bring
back everything from some representative Uz cavern... Whee! So many
possibilities!

Possibilities:
- The raids into Uz caverns were top-secret, by some Lunar secret service or
other. By telling the local humans about it, the Uz have put them all in
danger.
- The raids weren't by Lunars at all. Alternatively, the raids were by
Lunars, but the Uz go to a non-Lunar settlement to investigate. (All sunboys
look alike to me...)
- The Lunars are trying to draw the Uz into the open; they're expecting a
recon mission, and will deliberately feed them false information, hoping to
draw the bulk of the Uz into an ambush.
- If the raids were the result of intra-lunar politics, the local Lunar
lordlings might try to draw the Uz into it on their side (e.g. making sure
any retribution is against the real culprits, or getting info from the Uz to
use against the culprits back in Glamour). Of course, the Uz might be
talking to the real culprits, who're trying to trick the Uz into attacking
completely different, innocent humans...
