The ILH-1 description of Alkoth refers to 'a titanic wall of impenetrable green stone' and says that the city is the only one in Dara Happa that has never fallen to assault. I think that's the only canonical description, but it seems to follow that the walls are much harder (probably multiple mastery levels) to deal with than those of Pavis.

I think I've seen a fan-written account of just what happens if you try to climb the wall. After a list of the magical and spirit defences you have to overcome, it states that if you somehow manage to get through all of these what you have achieved is to break into Hell.

My overall concept for the visit is to impress on the players that they may be pretty tough but there are still powers in the world they have no hope of facing.

Yet.
