Or else the Lunar generals made such a hash of those engagements that they had to cover up their incompetance by exaggerating the capabilities of the enemy. A surprise attack by a handful of flyers supported by a few hundred fyrdmen becomes hundreds of fanatics dropping from the skies while tens of thousands of warriors swept over the Lunar lines. The latter being the story that reaches Glamour.
